Fabulous Friday Fun ~~ Happy St. Patrick's Day!!

 Hello Fellow Stampers ~~

We're flying through the days and weeks -- oh my!!  Keeping busy up to our eyeballs here at DDS Studios -- how about all of you??  It's time for the Spring Fling class tomorrow!!  And boy do I have some projects for my Stampers!!  On top of which . . . we're going to share St. Patrick's Day lunch together - Corned Beef and all the fixin's !!  I'm so looking forward to time together with the gals.

But before this day (and week) slips by us, I wanted to pop in and share with all of you!!  What would St. Patrick's Day be without a fabulous card to celebrate it with! 

 

The number ONE pick for me when I saw the new Spring Mini Catalog in December, was the Lucky Clover stamp set and coordinating punch.  I was so over the moon that after all this time, we finally had a St. Patrick's stamp set to work with.  We haven't had one in quite some time.  Turns out that it was soooo popular, that the punch sold out before we hit February!!  Yikes!  Guess Stampin' Up! didn't realize just how popular this set was going to be.

But don't let the lack of a punch keep you from this set.  The clovers are a very easy fussy cut; and this set is beyond adorable!!

 

This card uses our Evening Evergreen cardstock (soon to retire), and a combination of Soft Sea Foam, Mint Macaron, and Evening Evergreen inks on the Basic White panel, using the different clover stamp images in the set.

 

The sentiment was stamped with Versamark ink on Evening Evergreen cardstock, and heat embossed with White Emboss Powder.  Then I did a simple "fussy cut" to separate the sentiment and pop it with dimensionals along with the focal clover.  With a pretty bow, this simple card is complete!

 

Finished off similarly to the front with stamping in the background, this sweet sentiment is added to make a perfect gift to a cherished friend!

 

Now you've got a sneak peek of one of the projects for class tomorrow -- heehee.  Snap up this stamp set before it retires in a few weeks!!

In celebration of St. Patrick's Day ~~ here is a fun little card design for you!

I used the Wreath Builder Dies to create a fun cheery card to celebrate the day!!

One a Thick Whisper White card base (Basic White), I laid a triple layer of Garden Green, Granny Apple Green and Granny Apple DSP for a fabulous and easy background.

Then I cute a Stitched So Sweetly rectangle and popped it up with dimensionals.

Then I had a little fun with those Wreath Builder Dies - so pretty!

I cut the main wreath from Garden Green cardstock; then used the larger 4-petal "shamrock" (I made that one up -- LOL) die from Granny Apple Green; and the smaller one from So Saffron for some little flowers tucked in.

The fabulous sentiment comes from our Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set!

Glue dots to attach all the fun pieces; pop that sentiment with mini dimensionals; and finish it all off with smaller pearls, and the green rhinestones from the Holiday Rhinestones collection.

So pretty!

Mix-It Up Mondays ~~ Rise & Shine for St. Paddy's Day!!

Hello Fellow Stampers ~

Well, after another strange day ~ moving or cancelling appointments, going to one last chiropractic appointment, and an unplanned stop at Costo ~ we are trying to settle in and find a "normal" schedule!!  LOL  I had to take Sadie Ann for a walk this afternoon and get myself out in the fresh air!  I'm already feeling cooped up!!  😂🤣😂

 

Late this afternoon, I kind of forced myself to start finding my way back through some items that had gotten backed up in the Studio; and try to find that creative mojo again!  It's going to take a little bit I think; but together we will try to find some fun together to keep each other motivated, creative, and distracted from the silliness going on outside our front doors right now!  I have some things to share tomorrow, that I hope will help!!

In the meantime . . . it's time for St. Patrick's Day!!!  And in this house that means a crock pot with a wonderful Corned Beef roast marinating away in potatoes, carrots, a beer broth and topped off with cabbage of course; and other fun stuff to go with!!  I'm thankful I actually started planning for my annual St. Patrick's Day feast several weeks ago already, and didn't have to worry about finding the fixings over this past strange weekend!!

I've been thinking about this card design for several weeks now; ever since I realized we had the perfect "words" tucked away in the Word Wishes Dies!  Did you miss that??  It's easy to forget all the wonderful nuggets in our Annual Catalog products!

 

You can't have a "Paddy's Day" design without the requisite gold and green; and this card has plenty of both, thanks to the wonderful foil and glimmer papers in our arsenal!!

But before I break down the fun for you, let's talk a little about layout inspiration, because it's one of the things I hope to share with you as we get our creativity back while "isolating" in our homes!

I am a faithful follower of Julie Tillman and her Poetic Artistry blog.  Now Julie is NOT a Stampin' Up! demonstrator; but she does give me lots of inspiration, ideas . . . and every couple weeks she puts up some wonderful card layout idea sketches.  Tomorrow, in our Terrific Tuesdays post, I'll give you a link to my Pinterest Board where you can get more layout inspiration.

I fashioned today's card after this layout.  The point of a sketch layout is to use the inspiration; not necessarily take it literally.  Can you see the inspiration of this layout in today's card design??

Now let's break it back down for everyone!

This card base is cut from Very Vanilla cardstock, 4-1/4" x 11", scored at 5-1/2".

The gorgeous Old Olive design foil from the Noble Peacock Specialty Designer Series Paper was matted out with a piece of Gold Glimmer Paper.

Technique Tip:  When adhering foil against Glimmer Paper like this, SNAIL is not a good choice.  You need a heavier adhesive that is going to hold the two mediums together.  Use your Tear 'n Tape to get that good grip and assure a permanent stick!

I wrapped those layers with a brand new ribbon that I will be introducing to you later this week!!  Stay tuned!!

Then I finally, finally pulled out that brand Sale-A-Bration set, Rise & Shine, and had a ball!!

This cup is stamped in Old Olive classic ink.  (Don't forget your Cup of Cheer Dies from the holiday catalog ~ still available to go with this new stamp set!!)

But ~~  hint hint ~~ there is an adorable little "drop" in this stamp set (like a water drop or rain drop if you want to look at it that way), and I used that in Mossy Meadow ink to create my 4-Leaf Clover in the center of the cup.  Then I snagged some of my retired Gold Wink of Stella to add some shimmer to the center off each "leaf."  How cute is that!!

That wonderful Stitched So Sweetly Dies set is in full use here with the Gold Foil background; and the cut out for the sentiment; which is from Itty Bitty Greetings by the way -- did you miss that cute little saying in that set??

The fun part of this is the word die cut outs using Old Olive Green Foil from the Noble Peacock Foil Sheets.

Boy Oh Boy!!  We have GOT to get back into that Annual Catalog!!!  So many wonderful products we're "ignoring"!!  LOL

 

Finished off with a pretty bow and Old Olive green rhinestones from the Noble Peacock Rhinestones collection, how much fun would be to have this card in your mailbox tomorrow morning!!  😁😁😁

An Ask Wendy Wednesday's Technique Tip Tutorial

 

Good Morning Fellow Stampers -

 

Happy Hump Day!!  We're heading to 80 degrees here later this week, while the East Coast is buried in Winter.  Strange, isn't it??  :-)  Either way, any day is a good day for crafting me thinks!

 

On Monday I promised you all that I'd do a little technique tutorial on how to create these cute little shamrocks with our Petite Petals Punch (and also how to make shamrocks with the Pansy Punch).  So here we are . . . an Ask Wendy Wednesday's Technique Tip Tutorial.  Short, Sweet, . . . and fun!!  :-)  So I hope you enjoy ~

A St. Patrick's Medallion for the Paper Players ~

 

Good Morning Fellow Stampers :-)

Happy Monday!  Off and running into a new week.  We seem to be in Spring around here instead of Winter in March -- makes me wonder what April is going to bring.  The tulips have poked their heads in my garden; and I'm thinking I may need to start doing some Spring cleaning of the Winter kill and start pre-prepping the area for the warmer days ahead.  We've been struggling with fires around the area already too as we've just been way too dry.  Now I'm hoping for a nice wet rainy Spring season!

 

It's time to play with The Paper Players [PP335] this week; and what a fabulous way to kick off St. Patrick's  week . . . with a green and white challenge!  Ready for some fun?  I think I came up with a unique and befitting design today!

 

 

Doggone Delightful Stampin' Design Tips:

• Layerothology.  This card base is cut from Thick Whisper White cardstock, 4-1/4" x 11", scored at 5-1/2" - a top fold vertical card.  I chose Gold as my "pop" neutral color to spice up the Green and White theme - and because, of course, you can't have St. Patty's Day without some gold involved -- LOL.  The background layering is a piece of Cucumber Crush designer series paper backgrounds, matted with Gold Foil.  I have a piece of Gold Foil set to offset the smaller layered panel as well.

 

• Make a Medallion.  The SAB Make a Medallion stamp set is going to be my new best friend I think :-)  I used two of the smaller images to create the panel stamped background you see here.  Nice and easy and a stunning look.  The medallion itself is just so beautiful!  I can see me using this alot!  This one is stamped in Cucumber Crush and Delightful Dijon (to reflect the "gold"), and is cut with the Layering Circles Framelits; framed with a Gold Foil Stitched Shapes Framelit. 

 

• Teeny Tiny Wishes.  The Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set is full of teeny tiny sentiments perfect for all occasions - including St. Patrick's Day :-)  This one is punched out with the Duet Banner Punch, and popped with dimensionals across the middle of my medallion.  It is embellished with "shamrocks" I created with the Petite Petals Punch.  I'll be posting a short technique tutorial a little later this week on how to create your very own "shamrocks" with this punch and the Pansy Punch.  How fun is that!!!

 

You'll notice a little shimmer on my "shamrocks"; love that Clear Wink of Stella :-)

 

 

It's a perfect "celtic-feel" St. Patrick's card design ~ what do you think?  I just really adore how this came together.  I have to admit, with "springing forward" on the clocks yesterday, and a fair amount of "lounging" on a Sunday (needing some down time and all), and getting my nails done in the afternoon . . .  well, it took me a while of wandering in and out of the Studio to get this put together.  I was definitely "puttering" at it -- LOL  :-)  I hope you have enjoyed!
