Hello Fellow Stampers ~
Scary -- two posts in a row!! LOL It's been nice to finally be sitting at my work table and doing some playing and designing. This week I got all carried away with the new Poppy Parade Suite. I need to be concentrating on Valentine's designing; but I was having too much fun!! LOL I do really LOVE our poppies this year!! So much fun!!
Today's CASE is from the 2020 Spring Mini Catalog. The sample that inspires this card design was actually a gift bag. I will walk you through how I took that idea, and made it into this sweet sympathy card.

"CASE-Out" Design Guide
1. Score your 11" x 4-1/4" Thick Whisper White cardstock base (along the 11" side) at 5-1/2"; gently fold and burnish with your bone folder. Reminder: The "raised bump" of your score line goes to the inside to create that beautiful professional fold.
2. Carefully cut apart a Copper Dotted Treat Bag on the side and bottom folds. Then using the front piece of the bag, trim down to 4-1/4" x 5-1/2". Using SNAIL, cover the front of the card base with the trimmed Copper Dotted piece. [Yes, it covers the entire card front side-to-side/top-to-bottom]
3. On a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of Shimmery White cardstock, using an AquaPainter, spread Poppy Parade in a watercolor wash effect (you want dark and light areas). Allow piece to dry. Once dry, using the solid floral die from the Poppy Moments Dies, cut a large flower background; then using the flower "bud" die, cut 5 buds from the same watercolored cardstock.
4. Using the "detailed" large flower die, cut out from Poppy Parade cardstock, and carefully line and attach to the background flower using Fine-Tip Glue. Cut a "center" using Crushed Curry cardstock scrap and attach to the layered flower center; and finish with a Perennial Essence Floral Center.
5. Using the solid leaf die, cut a leaf from Granny Apple Green and Pear Pizzazz cardstock scrap. Cut the "bud" leaf/stem from Pear Pizzazz for your 5 buds.
6. Using the "detailed" leaf die, cut one from Mossy Meadow cardstock scrap, and one from Old Olive cardstock scrap.
7. Layer the detailed leaf cutouts over the solid leaf cutouts using Fine-Tip Glue - the Mossy Meadow on the Granny Apple Green; and the Old Olive on the Pear Pizzazz. Attach the buds to their bud leaves/stems.
8. Cut a piece of Vellum cardstock to 3-3/4" x 5". Set the Vellum in front of you in your work space; using Multi-purpose glue (sparingly!!), attach the Granny Apple Green/Mossy Meadow leaf to the Vellum so it points "up" on the left-hand side of the Vellum; and the Pear Pizzazz/Old Olive Leaf at an angle pointing toward the right-hand corner (see sample). Attach one flower bud layered over the Pear Pizzazz leaf at the junction of the first two leaves on the stem.
9. Pop the finished layered large flower overlapping the glued leaves using dimensionals.
10. Using glue dots, layer in the final flower buds underneath the popped flower (as you see in the sample).
11. Attach the Vellum to the front of the card base using SNAIL where it is "hidden" behind your flowers and leaves.
12. On a piece of 1-7/8" x 2" Whisper White cardstock, stamp the "With Deepest Sympathy" sentiment in Old Olive classic ink; then use the Banner Triple Punch to "flag" the bottom of the cardstock. Attach to the right-hand upper corner of the Vellum using SNAIL. Add a glue dot or two behind this on the back of the Vellum to secure this area to the card base front.
13. Finish off by adding 3 Peaceful Poppies Sequins beneath the banner / sentiment using Fine-Tip Glue.
14. Finish off the inside of your card - Poppy Parade matting 4-1/8" x 5-3/8"; Whisper White cardstock layered on top, 3-7/8" x 5-1/8". Cut a large flower with the die set using Calypso Coral cardstock, overlayer detailed in Poppy Parade cardstock, Basic Black flower center, and large single leaf in Granny Apple Green/Mossy Meadow overlay; attach to the bottom right corner with SNAIL. Stamp the sentiment in Old Olive ink.
It's amazing what you can do with this bundle and suite. I just love it!!!
