Well, as I indicated yesterday, getting sick over the weekend waylaid my best laid plans; so we will put off until next week the video tutorial I had planned for today. But I'm not going to leave you empty-handed!! LOL Nooooo . . . thanks to Stampin' Up!, there is always something to be learning and doing, right??
If you're like me, I LOVE to learn new techniques and try new things. I also LOVE when I get to watch a video that inspires me to create and show me how to create step-by-step. These two new Stampin’ Up! technique videos are another installment in their fabulous technique series and are not to be missed for sure!! I LOVE that Stampin' Up! brings us new ideas and keeps us moving forward with the latest techniques and ideas out on the world wide web -- because there truly is so much to keep up with and try!! So click on each video below, "learn something" as Scott Bakula on NCIS New Orleans would say -- LOL; and then run (don't walk) to your craft spaces to give it a try!!.
Now, here are the products seen in today's "Faux Metal Embossing" technique video:
And the products seen in the second triple embossing technique video:
Have a wonderful "hump day" everyone -- we'll be back tomorrow with a new CASE-Out!!
Whooo Hooo -- we've made it halfway through the week! We're working hard here at DDS Studios to get caught up and start preparing for the hectic season ahead. Keep you eye on the Class Schedule page as I hope to have the schedule planned up by later this week; and stay tuned, as we are planning lots of exciting projects and inspiration for your crafting pleasure. We also have so many exciting things going on at Stampin' Up! right now - so don't miss out on signing up for Paper Pumpkin, and putting together you favorite designer series paper list for the sale coming in October!!
Today, as promised, it's time for Class With Wendy, and a full tutorial on how to create the beautiful "white-on-white" (or what would be termed "tone-on-tone" in the quilting world) "Fall" card from last week's Pretty Pals Blog Hop. Tone-on-tone is a very elegant and striking method of design. This method is highly regarded in quilting circles; and can be translated across to many other crafting styles. I hope you enjoyed the technique in this card presentation.
Today's tutorial is one style and way of creating a card like this. Next week, we are going to explore another technique, that gives a similar type look, but is effected in a totally different way. It is a new technique that just burst on the scene since a certain "eclipse event" a month ago -- LOL. We'll showcase that and talk more about it in next week's Class With Wendy tutorial, so I hope you'll come back and visit with me next week for that fun tutorial.
So let's jump in with Class With Wendy today. I'm so happy and excited you are here and I hope you will have fun and enjoy virtual class today!! Here we go . . . .
All the supplies for today's class project are in the link up below. Just click on any of the images and it will take you directly to my Online Store to purchase those products. Happy Hump Day! It's that time . . . It's time for Class With Wendy Wednesday . . . and today we're finishing off my Christmas In July series with a video tutorial on my Carols of Christmas overlay. I am so excited about this new stamp set and die bundle; and I know you are too. As of yesterday, you can "early order" this beautiful set before the Holiday Occasions Catalog is released!! How fabulous is that!!??
So a couple of notes for you today before you watch today's video.
This is a top-fold standard A2 card - 4-1/4" x 11", scored at 5-1/2".
The front layering is the exact same measurements as the front of the card. That means, cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock AND a piece of Vellum at 4-1/4" x 5-1/2"
I got distracted while making this video -- LOL; so, do your layering of the front of the card as follows: Attach the pine needle boughs using glue dots near the top of the background piece first; then apply SNAIL to the front of the Vellum, attach the ribbon, THEN put SNAIL on the back of the Vellum to match where the ribbon is, and attach this to the front of your background piece right over the pine needle boughs. All the adhesive and attached areas will be hidden behind the ribbon if done correctly.
Now you can finish off the Silver Foil pieces and the bow -- LOL You'll see what I mean when you watch the video.
Getting old is not easy -- LOL 😋
As of yesterday, you can now order the fabulous Carols of Christmas bundle (which includes the Card FrontBuilder Thinlits dies) for a fabulous 10% discount. This beautiful set with its BOLD sentiments is perfect for stunning Christmas cards without a lot of effort.
And you get to order it BEFORE the Holiday Occasions Catalog is released on September 1st. So don't wait -- get your set today, and you can start creating today's card design too!!
Get a head start on your Christmas card making - order your set today in my Online Store! As always, I'm only an email away for any of your Stampin' Up! needs.
Well, we switched around the "day off" this week; sort of unintentionally. So instead of not blogging on Thursday; we didn't blog on Wednesday -- LOL It's been sort of a crazy week, and I'm, as usual, focused on issues at work. Issues I'm hoping and praying may be resolving themselves very soon.
I'm excited bring you , by request, today's Class With Wendy tutorial on my Fabulous Flamingo card from a couple weeks back. You may remember THIS card for the Paper Players challenge. This is not a difficult card; it's all in the details as I always say. Ready to jump in and be crafty this Thursday??!! :-)

Happy Hump Day! It's time for a Class With Wendy video tutorial. We've been holding off for a little while on videos after all my internet issues last month. But we're back on board and giving it another try. Things have improved some, although not quite where I'd like them to be. Turns out that I can't get the internet speed I'd like to have in my community (unable to run the wiring and lines necessary), so we've had to make do with a replacement of the current line and a fix to the very badly deteriorated internet connection I had earlier this spring. Things did go a little more smoothly earlier this week with the upload, so I was at least breathing a sigh of relief over that !!
I have to apologize though, profusely!! I really wanted to showcase these cards and this technique BEFORE Father's Day this past weekend, and I just ran out of time to get everything done the way I wanted. So we're coming in a little "late" and thus, I've changed the focus off of Father's Day, and more strictly to masculine card designs in general. This technique is really fabulous for masculine cards, and I have fallen in love with it. You MUST give it a try!! I may even give it a try with some "contraband" colors of embossing powder and try to create some pretty feminine cards. I'll let you know and share how that turns out!! 😉
These featured cards were created for a local class in early May using a number of products from the Urban Underground Suite in the Spring Occasions Catalog which are all now retired; nevertheless, as you can see from the card I create in today's video tutorial, we have lots of fabulous current products that you can use to create masculine cards. Need any of these products? Click on the product carousel at the end of today's post to go straight to that product in my Online Store.
So let's "go to class" together, and have some crafty fun!

I hope you have enjoyed today's virtual class; do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or if you need help with Stampin' Up! in any way. And I'll be showcasing a "how to" on the Lovely Laurel Thinlits on my Business Facebook page shortly . . . so keep an eye out for that one too!!
Finally - I'm excited to tell you that we will be taking a "virtual tour" of my Studio very soon! So you won't want to miss that one either! Keep an eye out!
