Good Morning Fellow Stampers ~
9 hours and counting - approximately!!! I am counting the minutes until this day is over and I can officially start my holiday break. No work until January 2nd!!! Whoo Hoooo! And we kick it off tonight with the big Company holiday party at the Hyatt Regency downtown; so that means racing home and getting all gussyed up and heading off for an evening of partying and fun! Perfect!
It's time to crack open the suitcase and see what's inside this week. And I think we should "reach back" into our Annual Catalog and enjoy some of the wonderful products that were carried forward from last year's Holiday Occasions Catalog - some of these were my absolute favorites.

You know how much I love shaker cards - and today' we're going to CASE the shaker card on page 119 of the annual catalog, as seen in the picture above. This card is relatively simple, and so much fun!

"CASE-Out" Design Guide
1. Score your Whisper White cardstock base at 4-1/4", and fold [Reminder: Fold "inward" on your bump - bump goes to the inside - to get that nice clean professional look]. Use your bone folder gently so as not to "crack" your cardstock.
2. Stamp the tree image from the stamp set across the middle of the card front at varying heights using Smoky Slate ink.
3. Using the 2nd larges Layering Circle framelit, cut a circle in the upper center of the Real Red 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" cardstock piece. Cover on the back side with your window sheet piece. You can adhere with SNAIL or Multi-Purpose glue (just be careful not to use too much and "squeeze" it out everywhere! 😉)
4. Adhere the little "reindeer" patter from the Be Merry designer series paper collection (1-1/2" x 5-1/2" piece) to the lower front of your Real Red cardstock.
5. Wrap a length of 3/8" Silver Edge Metallic Ribbon around the Real Red and tie a bow (Tips: lay SNAIL along the back where the ribbon will wrap; then put a glue dot or two on the front where you start your tie to be an extra set of "hands" and hold while you make your bow). The ribbon should be your "cover" or transition between the designer paper and the cardstock; it will cover the lower part of your circle opening just slightly.
6. With the small star image from the stamp set, stamp in Real Red ink randomly here and there across the top of your Real Red cardstock piece.
7. Using Foam Adhesive Strips, create a tight "cup" around your circle on the back (don't let there be any gaps for your sequins to fall through); then add strips along the edges of the Real Red piece so that everything will sit at the same height when attached to the card base front.
8. Pool some Metallics Sequins in the center of your card base front then carefully center the Real Red piece and adhere to your card front. It should cover completely from side-to-side, and top to bottom.
9. Stamp the reindeer on Smoky Slate cardstock (I found I liked my Basic Gray ink against the Smoky Slate better than Smoky Slate on Smoky Slate). Cut him out with the coordinating die from the Santa's Sleigh Thinlits. Stamp a bow using Smoky Slate ink on a scrap of Real Red and cut it out with the coordinating die; adhere to Mister Reindeer with a glue dot. Add a Rhinestone for some "bling." Pop Mister Reindeer on the card front using dimensionals.
10. Stamp the Merry Christmas sentiment on the 1/2" x 3" strip (approx.) using Smoky Slate ink. Using your paper snips, hand snip a banner cut on each end. Pop on the card front using dimensionals.
Our cute little shaker card is done; and that really wasn't too hard, was it?? 😄 I love a cute shaker card; and I think this one is nice and festive. Hopefully, if you're looking to whip up a few extra "fun" projects this week and next, this is one you can do quickly and easily. Wouldn't that be perfect for a young niece or nephew?
